I knew a guy from Tintagel called John Dishman, his dad had a souvenir shop at the top of the track down to the castle. He'd put a bowl of water outside the shop with a card saying "For Dogs".
In the summer the dogs would empty it and by closing time the tourists would have filled it with money.
His dad drove a landrover up and down the track taking tourists who couldn't be arsed walking ( or were crook), and I saw this myself, in the windscreen he had a card saying "Actually, I do own the bloody road!"

I had a mate who had a holiday home next door to a pub in Tintagel, I've had many a hangover from there. And that bridge must be new, well it wasn't there 20 years ago the last time I was there.

Managed out for a wee hurl this afternoon.

The weather was braw but the roads were very busy.

I've fished at the mouth of Loch Findhorn years ago, it's got a fearsome tidal rip and loads of seals guarding the entrance.   frown1

A wee  pic en route to Dunoon over Mr b's wee road.   tuono;

A smashin run.   happy119

Excellent A.... out already after your hurl !

Ali - i went out on a speed boat many moons ago around Findhorn Bay.... wuz towed on a ski biscuit (like a tractor inner tube) and flung off at mega knots..... ended up caught in the rip and drifted out on the tide...
Fortunately.... had a briefing before i set off on not to swim against the tide..... boat would circle around and pick me up "when" i was chucked off.

Twas a fab moment tho.... a couple of seals popped up and and accompanied me as we all went out with the tide....

Happy Days !

Just returned from a Caponord meet up in Kettlewell Yorkshire. Which by the way is open to all you fuds too, Aprilia or not. We had 25 bikes, 11 of which were Caponords, 2 Futuras, 2 Falcos, 3 KTM's, 2 Guzzi's, a Ducati, 3 BMW's and a Tenere...The organiser posted on all the AF1 V-twin forums. Next meet will likely be in Llandovery Wales around easter time, and in fact I think there is one around Orkney next year in the summer.

Anyway, some pics;

Didn't do camping this time as this was a 7.5hr journey for me from Kent and I'd been prepping my neglected Capo until right up to the event so booked into a B&B instead.

View from the window...

The picturesque village of Kettlewell

Morning briefing

The village beck...

Somewhere in Yorkshire...although we touched 3 counties on the ride out

Somewhere in Lancashire I believe, a view over the irish sea and the IOM...

As you can see, we had glorious weather...

and back to the B&B.

Sunday came home in torrential rain, like having a hose on me for 6.5 hours solid!

Great little blast, Friday to Sunday so just a short one with about a thousand miles covered.
