Swapped the old heavy battery for a lightweight Lithium one. Was about to replace the 50amp starter relay with a 150amp one I just bought until I saw I'd already fitted a new one last year  frown1. Anyone need a brand new starter relay  big grin1.

I can't easily swap out the relay as the alarm's wired into it.  frown1

Junk the alarm. They're more trouble than they're worth and nobody takes any notice of them anyway.

Can you wire it so that you can switch the lights on before you crank it?
Lithiums work miles better if you put them under a slight load for a few secs before you draw big amps.
They need to be 'woken up' to give their best.

So was mine until last year when I got the alarm removed, that's when I put the 150amp starter relay in and then completely forget I'd done it and bought another  frown1. It's yours if you want it.

I remeber Roy and I were staying at an hotel on the outskirts of Ft Bill.

He had a lithium battery fitted but in the moring it wouldn't fire the engine.

We tried to bump start the machine down the steep entrance road but the rear wheel just locked up.

He did mention that those battery types work better if they're warmed up.

Another couple of tries and the engine fired up on the starter.

It was after that weekend he replaced the sprag starter.

He dumped the lithium battery after that.

Like Tifa says when it's cold just turn on the headlight for a while and the battery will wake up.

At the test centre with the KTM.
Bloke couldn't select neutral after riding it inside. Then took a long look at the misshapen front tyre. sad33
