If you already have the side rails then you could just make the u-shaped hoop from the correct size tube.

as you say the weight sits on the rear seat - I reckon you have the skills to do it

Which is worth more the £150 or your time spent fettling?

Why does the weight sit on the seat ?
On the T.... the rack is turned around so the bag sits on the rack which sits above the seat or "cover"...

I don't turn my rack round. I sit the bag on the seat with the pocket over the hoop.

I can then use a sports bag on the rack as a day bag for easy access

Works for me

I've got Kriega gear and it deffo sits on the seat, in fact it clamps the seat onto the sub frame.

Got loads of other luggage as well,,,,,in total probably aboot 500ltr worth.

Could fit the whole lot packed to the gunwales intae Gilo's top box along wae his gear fir a months fudfest.   happy119   laughing1
