I AM THE TIMELORD

« on: December 23, 2020, 03:54:25 PM »

Chrimbo came a week early.
Treated the chinkie lathe to a DRO.
Works great, the ability to switch between metric and imperial at the touch of a button is pretty cool too. They sent a 3 axis reader which I'm guessing is for a mill, but was same price. Case is dicast ally, not the cheapo plastic. All in all, chuffed. Almost makes it numpty proof. (almost)

Also fitted an AXA quick change toolpost, pain in the arse to get it to fit, but it works good.

You cannot begin to imagine just how fiddly this lot was to set up......

Luckily I've got loads of space under the bench for all the failed shit.....

Be very interested to see how it performs mate.

Hope its nothing like the set up I had, about 10yr ago.
Was ok for one offs, but set to repeat was an utter disaster šŸ˜ƒšŸ˜ƒ
May have been operator error mind.
By the time I set it, could have made 10 pieces.
